My small contribution to the German GEMA problem:
I am simply a British runaway, living in German and working between London and Cologne. I am not a top lawyer or high flying executive, instead I do what I enjoy, I am a teacher of dancing.
I am fortunate in belonging to the 50 + club, the era that aren’t afraid to achieve or make changes. Being very British I still have the “Bulldog” spirit and as any Brit we don’t tolerate injustice, or ridiculous practices but stand up for what we feel is fair and correct.
The aim of my work with the European Parliament and the German Government is not to destroy the GEMA but to achieve a situation which is fair, correct and responsible both for those who use music as well as the artists who make music. Music, culture and dance are important to us all including Germany.
